Manchester Youth Zone Community Day: Bringing Our Community Together
On Saturday 22nd August, Manchester Youth Zone opened its doors for a fantastic Community Day, bringing young people, families, local residents, partners and supporters together for an afternoon of fun, activities and celebration.
The event was a brilliant opportunity for our community to see what happens at Manchester Youth Zone and discover the wide range of opportunities available for young people across North Manchester.
A day packed with fun
From the moment people arrived, there was plenty going on. Families and young people could get involved in activities, games, challenges and entertainment, with something for everyone to enjoy.
The day was all about creating a welcoming space where people could spend time together, try something new and experience the positive atmosphere at Manchester Youth Zone.
Our facilities were also open for the community to explore, giving visitors the chance to see the spaces where young people take part in sport, fitness, youth work, creative activities and much more throughout the year.
Celebrating our community
Community Day was about much more than activities. It was a chance to celebrate the people and organisations who make Manchester Youth Zone what it is.
We were incredibly grateful to the local businesses and partners who supported the event with donations, helping us provide food, refreshments, activities and treats for everyone who attended.
A huge thank you to Antonelli, who donated delicious ice cream and cones, Warburtons for providing hot dog rolls and burger buns, and Tesco and Morrisons for donating a fantastic selection of essentials, snacks and supplies.
Their generosity helped us make the day extra special for our community.
Looking ahead
Community Day was a fantastic reminder of the importance of having a safe, welcoming and positive space for young people and their families.
At Manchester Youth Zone, we are proud to support thousands of young people across North Manchester, helping them to build confidence, develop new skills, make friends and reach their potential.
We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, supported the event or helped make the day happen.
We can't wait to continue working alongside our community and creating even more opportunities for young people to thrive.
