When we do things together, we make more friends and plans, and we all achieve so much more.
No one gets left out or left behind at Manchester Youth Zone. Whether it is sports, arts, workshops, or recreational games, MYZ activities are accessible to all.
As well as our open-to-all core sessions, there is an exclusive ‘Inclusion Session’ for members with additional needs. Taking place on Sundays between 12-3pm you can get involved in anything from sports, arts, rec games, sensory play, performing arts and cooking. We also offer trips during the school holidays.
Our staff and volunteers are trained to support young people with additional needs and disabilities with respect and dignity. Before joining us on session, you will be invited to a ‘new members meeting’, this is mandatory as it allows us to understand more about the young person, the additional needs, and the ways in which we can best support on session.
We will try and book in these meetings within 7 days of your membership application.
Manchester Youth Zone is unable to offer professional 1:1 support to young people attending activities. Families are very welcome to organise their own support worker or carer. We do ask that these carers provide a copy of their enhanced DBS during their first visit.
If you’d like more information before joining, please call us on 0161 203 5333 or email email@example.com
Our staff are fully trained to support young people with disabilities and additional needs with respect and experience. When you join MYZ, you and your parents/carers will be invitied to have a quick chat with our Inclusion Team. We can learn more about you and figure out the best way to support you to have fun at MYZ… it’s also a chance for you to ask us questions too!
If you would like to sign up, or have any questions, please get in touch using the form below.
There is currently a waiting list for new Inclusion Members. We will try to get back in touch within 2 weeks – we are working hard to ensure MYZ is a safe and inclusive environment for all of our Members.
