The sun dances paid off on Friday, as cyclists from across the North West’s business community took to the roads of Cheshire to cycle 104km in the sunshine in aid of The Factory, leaving from Bowdon Rugby Club.
With teams from Tilney, Axon Moore, Deloitte, V Docs, VST, Clear Marketing and FRP Advisory, kindly sponsored by Sports Tours International and supported by Haute Rouleurs who set the course, the day was a great first event of its kind for the Factory’s fundraising attempts raising over £3,000. To put this into context, this funding could translate to enabling us to offer both male and female young people the opportunity to improve their fitness, stamina and discipline as well as their self-defence via our boxing offering at The Factory for a whole year.
This was a team event – with the fastest team (only being as fast as their slowest rider) winning overall. This prize went to Axon Moore, who shot through the course and crossed the finish line as a team – they arrived back an hour before the next riders!
All the riders, came back smiling, to enjoy some delicious food prepared by The Factory Brew’s own Rick Bissell, and a well deserved refreshing drink! The raffle prize on the evening was a £500 cycling holiday voucher from Sports Tours International, which was won by Deloitte’s Josh Hunt.
It was a great opportunity for The Factory to meet new contacts and discuss ways that they can get involved. Thank you so much to all who joined in and supported on the event – we hope to see you all again next year!
