Summit to Shout About
September 23, 2018 - October 2, 2018
On the 23rd September, a brave team from all walks of life (and fitness levels) will tackle the incredible challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, to raise money for the Manchester Youth Zone.
Standing tall at an imposing 5895m, our adventurous soon-to-be mountaineers will make their way to the summit (and back down) over 10 days. On the route, they will meet up with a local crew at Rongai village, camp at the Kiklewa caves and beneath the mighty Kibo Wall, and trek up to the spectacular volcanic cones of Mawenzi.
The team will prepare for Kilimanjaro by training with a veteran Everest climber, and our young people will be supporting them back home by climbing the same distance as they do every day on our climbing wall.
