MYZ Adventure on Bee in the City Trail

The Bee in the City sculptures only have a few weeks left in the wild before they’re auctioned off for the We Love Manchester Fund (don’t worry – Harpurbee will be staying put at the Youth Zone) so some of our young people took the opportunity to go on the trail and take as many pictures with the bees as possible!

Our young people got the bus down to Oxford Road and zigzagged their way through the city centre. They visited bees around HOME, Manchester Central, up Deansgate and Spinningfields, and visited the little bees in John Rylands Library.

After a bit of lunch in the Arndale – the kids were really excited to order their own food without parents! – they made sure to capture pictures with all the bees around Piccadilly Gardens, Market Street, the Football Museum and Shudehill before hopping on the bus back to the Youth Zone.

The young people behaved themselves really well in Manchester, although it was exciting for them to be out and about in town without their parents! Tess,  our Youth Engagement Worker, had an easy job escorting them as they all made sure to keep each other together and safe.

Young people can get involved with more activities like these on our Saturday sessions, and don’t forget you can keep up to date with Manchester Youth Zone on Facebook, TwitterLinkedIn and Instagram!
